#DDAY82 🇩🇰 Le 6 juin 1944, 800 marins danois et des civils ont acheminé à bord de cargos le matériel indispensable aux forces alliées, jusqu’au large d’Utah Beach. 30 navires, des tonnes d’équipements, et un courage discret qui a longtemps manqué de reconnaissance. Au cours de la guerre, près de 1 000 soldats danois rejoignent également les Alliés pour combattre à leurs côtés. Ce matin, à Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, devant le monument Sjømanden (“Le Marin”), une cérémonie a rendu hommage aux 1 950 Danois morts aux côtés des forces alliées, et aux survivants, en présence de l’ambassadeur du Danemark en France et d’un représentant du Parlement danois. 82 ans après, leur mémoire reste vivante. Et la Manche la garde. 🌊 6 juin 1944 — 6 juin 2026. --- On the 6th of June 1944, 800 danish sailors and civilians brought on cargo ships the equipment necessary to the allied forces, all the way to the coast of Utah Beach. 30 ships, tons of equipment, and a discreet bravery that long went unacknowledged. During the war, almost a thousand Danish soldiers joined the Allied forces to fight alongside them. This morning, in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, in front of the Sjømanden (“The Sailor”), a ceremony paid tribute to the 1950 Danish soldiers who died along the Allied forces, and those who survived, in the presence of the Danish ambassador to France and a representative of the Danish parliament. 82 years later, their memory is still alive.
